Is pain normal when first getting braces?

mszwoo,new techonology now!!!lol I have these wires that atomaticlly tighten when hot stuff touches them, && they loosen when cold stuff touches them, very convienent, :)

I would suggest eating something before going to the dentist and taking some motrin/Ibuprofen or something for the pain later. It’ll hurt for a few days, but when I had my braces I ate yogurt and anything smooth so that I wasn’t using my teeth.

I has braces years ago but I do remember when I first got them and everytime they got tightened they hurt. After a couple days they will be fine and you will be used to them.

No,that’s normal. It’s going to be like that for about 3 days. Take some Ibuprofen and drink milk. Eat soft things,too,like Ramen noodles. After awhile you’ll be able to eat harder things,like pizza. Good luck. :)

its COMPLETELY normall, trust me, I have them && this is my FOURTH YEAR :’(. loll they will hurt for about a week, dont let your doc say no gum cause you can still eat evveryytthiinhhhggg. ttrruussttt me. and once your really into haveing braces, you might get a chain where the rubberbands on the tiop or bottom are ALL CONNECTED that will hurt like you just got the braces, for about a week, your good tho, :D funmail me if youneeddd anything kay?! im hwre for helpinggg
