  How to LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn’t gain your weight overnight so don’t expect to lose if overnight. Plus, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

BMI Classification

18.5 or less Underweight
18.5 to 24.99 Normal Weight
25 to 29.99 Overweight
30 to 34.99 Obesity (Class 1)
35 to 39.99 Obesity (Class 2)
40 or greater Morbid Obesity

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Another thing that helps to lose weight is to always eat a good breakfast. That helps to jump start your metabolism which helps start burning calories. Also, try to drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water every day. One before every meal (except breakfast) and before all snacks. That helps curb your appetite which helps reduce caloric intake.

Answer #7

I was just learning in my High-school 12th grade health class about weight just this is how you lose weight…exactley what she said ^^^ way up there, you can NOT starve yourself just work out and turn that flab into firm tight muscles with simple things like sit-ups or get a gym membership and do things with weights or better use your own weight and pull yourself up to do chin-ups at the gym. (the reason I say you have to work out is because my health teacher was telling us how if you starve yourself your body begins to eat itself) and all fatty tissue on your body has extreme potential to become muscle so just try

Answer #8

what do you do to stay slim?

Answer #9

HA! I cant either! I have very little muscle. which means I have a low metabolism. which SUCKS

Answer #10

Answer #14

Answer #15

Answer #16

Your body needs about 1200 Calories a day just to run itself (heart beating, digestion working, etc). So plan on 1500-1800 Cal. for daily intake combined with some sort of exercise. Try to pick an exercise that you like - swimming, snowboarding, dog walking, jogging, tennis, dance, etc. If you like doing it you will probably stick to it. Or you can get a friend to do it with you. What you want to avoid is a drastic diet. That will throw your body’s metabolism into its “starvation mode’ which will slow your metabolism and make it harder to burn calories. And what you want to do is relearn what to eat. Not a lot of junk, and everything in moderation. Good Luck!!

Answer #17

http://mypyramid.gov/ go to this website it will help you develob your own food pyramid that will tell you what to eat and it will show what exercies to do that will burn up the most calories. hope this helps

Answer #18

just dont eat junk food and eat more fruits and veggies like you have been but dont stop eating. you also need to eat more than 3 times per day like every 3-4 hours eat a piece of fruit or some veggies. and when you eat actual meals just make them a little smaller than usual but not to small. eating more than 3 times per day if your eating healthy which you say you are should lower your matabolism. I am trying to loose weight myself and by doing what I just told you to do I lost 5 lbs in 2 days. yes it will take a little time but atleast the weight will be off and stay off. Dont forget to excersise also. Hope this helps if have any questions just ask.

Answer #19

1000 isn’t enough. ask your nutritionist exactly what youru target caloric intake should be. mine was 1700…but then again I’m 5’8”.

I would shoot for at least 1400. but you prob need more. talk to your nutritionist.
