Why wont my Sims load?

did you happen to download any custom content from any site other than sims2.com?

It might because my friend has a regular computer and it works ormaybe you need a new disc

If you dont have the original Sims 2 game you cant dl expansion packs (if that is an expansion pack that is) it can also be the type of comp you have. some disks wont play on certain comp brains ex. apples and microsoft. if not you just might need a setting you’re missing in your comp look up the sims 2 website.. the people there can really help

well I have custom content on mine and it worked perfectly fine. Recently the same things have happened to my game too and the disk is brand new. I installed some custom content from thesims2.com and it was a wealthy family that I installed. The game worked at first, but when I tried to put the other family into the neighborhood (another family I installed) my game kept terminating and now that family wont even appear in my neighborhood. I restarted my computer (and I have a laptop as well) and now when I click enter household, it loads at first but then it complete stops like it’s frozen. I don’t know what to do either. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY TO THE ANSWER. I NEED ANSWERS 2! sorry I wasnt of help, but both me and you might have to reinstall the game. I’ve got a couple of comments saying that.
