What's up with this guy?

Okay… I meet this guy, lets say through a close friend. He lives with this close friend so anytime I see her I see him. Sometimes I think that he likes me, I will catch him starring or smiling at me. But other times he will ignore me, it makes me so upset/angry. He is a big joker and he will joke about me instead of others so I thought that maybe that meant something but now I dont know. Today he sat next to me and kept moving, and rested his knee on mine… so I think maybe? but then half way through the movie we were watching he moves to a different chair? what’s up with this guy? I really like him and I think he likes me but then he just confuses me!
