Hello sheizdd! Very good question! Here are some answers

Heaven What does the Bible say about heaven? It’s in the Bible, John 14:2-3, NIV. “There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with me where I am.”

Heaven is beyond our comprehension. It’s in the Bible, I Corinthians 2:9, NIV. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

How did Isaiah describe heaven? It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 65:21-23, NIV. “They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; My chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them.”

Peace will pervade even the animal kingdom. It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 65:25, NIV. “The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food. They will neither harm nor destroy in all My holy mountain.”

The handicapped will be healed. It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 35:5-6, NIV. “Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shout for joy.”

God will live with His people and there will be an end to death, crying, and pain. It’s in the Bible, Revelation 21:3-4, NIV. “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

aettam I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe some day you’ll change your mind, I hope.

Answer #4

This universe we live in is about 180 billion light years across, or about 800 sextillion miles. This universe is only one universe of innumerable universes. The Maha Vishnu is laying on a giganctic ocean and these universes come from Him. He breathes them out. On top of all these innumerable Universes is Heaven, or Krishnaloka.

Answer #5

Prior to the 13th century, there was no distinction between heaven and ‘the sky’ as we call it. The ancients literally believed that gods lived in the sky.

That’s why angels are depicted as having wings, why Elijah flew UP in a flaming chariot, why YHWH wanted smoked meats (it was a sweat savor unto the lord, because the smoke went UP), and why Jesus went UP into the sky when he departed the 2nd time. It’s also why even today, people raise their arms toward the sky in prayer, and look upward, and why heaven is almost universally felt to be ‘up’ and hell ‘down’.

Answer #6

I believe… there’s no such thing.

Answer #7

You see, that is a very tough question becuase everyone has a different opinion on what heaven really is. Some say that it is in the sky, yes… but, how can that be when all you see when you look into the sky is clouds or stars? Some people say that Hell is down… but how can that be when the earth is constantly rotating and down is never a constant thing. Down for one person could be up for another. I just don’t understand where these mythical places could possibly be. I think that if you believe in that, you may as well believe in unicorns. I believe that heaven is here on earth. We get ONE life and this is as good as it gets. I do not believe we go anywhere when we die but in the ground.

Answer #8

People who believe in heaven and hell base both of these “places” in a spiritual sense. The “up” or “down” comes from people believing that goodness means progressing towards a positive outcome equates to “moving up” as opposed to “moving down.” Heaven and hell are spritual and are not tangible, so they cannot be associated with any cardinal direction. h Since eaven and hell are spiritual, existence in either comes from how close a spirit is to God. If someone is religious/spirtual, their ultimate goal is to be with God. Basically, heaven or hell is not tangible and either’s respective location cannot be explained for that exact reason.

Answer #9

As for Hell, most think it is inside the earth, but the Bible teaches something totally different. Hell is an event not a place. Revelation 20:9, NIV. “But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.”

The wages of sin is death, not eternal punishing. Romans 6:23, NIV. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The wicked will perish and be destroyed. Psalm 37:20, NIV. “But the wicked will perish: The Lord’s enemies will be like the beauty of the fields, they will vanish—vanish like smoke.”

The wicked will be burned up and nothing will remain. Malachi 4:1, NIV. “Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire, says the Lord Almighty. Not a root or a branch will be left to them.”

When Christ spoke of everlasting punishment he did not mean everlasting punishing. Matthew 25:46, NIV. “Then they will go away to everlasting punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Sodom and Gomorrah suffered eternal fire but they are not burning today. It’s in the Bible, Jude 7, NIV. “In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.”

The fire will be unquenchable, but when there is nothing left to burn it will go out. Matthew 3:12, NIV. “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will clear His threshing floor, gathering the wheat into His barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Jeremiah 17:27, NIV says, “But if you do not obey Me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying any load as you come through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle an unquenchable fire in the gates of Jerusalem that will consume her fortresses.”

The entire earth will be cleansed by fire. It’s in the Bible, I Peter 3:10, RSV. “And then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.”

Who is destroyed in the lake of fire? Revelation 20:15, NIV. “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

Answer #10

I agree with rnealw that, whilst previous generations saw heaven as a physical location somewhere in this universe, we now understand it more to be ‘another dimension’, a phrase which physicists may also use. But that ‘dimension’ is spiritual rather than locational.

Answer #11

Heaven is in a dimention of Spirit.

Answer #12

OOPS! Looks like I hit the button too many times, sorry!
