Is this allowed in school?

Today, in my health class we were going to watch Claymation on STD’s. My Health teacher said “There are things in this claymation movie that I am against.” Then as he was explaining it I believe someone said someting about homosexuality. He said something along the lines of “I PERSONALLY am against gay and lezbian marriage, blah blah blah.” Is that allowed in school? He voices his bias opinions on everything he is against except religion in the classroom. I don’t think he is allowed to do that. Should I speak up?

If your parents are receptive to your opinions on this subject, ask them to let the administration know that his opining on these subjects is making you feel uncomfortable because he is dissing some of your friends, and that is not appropriate. (If this comes from a parent it will carry more weight - not fair, but it’s a fact.) He, of course, can have what ever opinion he wants, no matter how stupid. You are just expressing that you feel he is unjustified in expressing them in class. If you are in a public school, his expressing RELIGIOUS views is not allowed, (unless it is a subject that deals with religion).

Allowed or not, I doubt the school wants a teacher like that, it could get the school in trouble. Document everytime he does this (date, time, place, exact words, if he’s talking to anyone in particular, etc) saying he always “does this” is not going to carry as much weight as actual documented remarks…

everyone has their own opinion. but I agree with you. I’m not sure if you should speak up or not. I would though
