Health Care Professions

Hi. I’m graduating high school this year and I’m trying to decide what I want to go to college to be. I’ve pretty much decided that I would be best suited for a health care profession but the question is which one. I know there are tons out there and I’d kinda like to do something that’s off the beaten path. Not a doctor, nurse, pharmicist or anything common like that. Any suggestions?

WOW! grading this year, it’s january, and you’re still deciding of what you’d like to take!! - should’ve took the time to research your options during the winter break!, because it’s really stressful to cram it all right now! - wish you luck! plus, you haven’t told me much of your interists!! - all I know is that you want to go into the health care/medical area!… but speciffically what area?… like are you looking at jobs in the field of kinesiology? or health education?… est since I dunno excatly what area you’re interested in… here’s some that came to mind: a diatrition, nutritionist, dental hygienist, massage theripist, biochemist, kinesiologist, chiropractor, pediatrician, personal trainer

The suggestions so far have been really good, so keep them coming.

Sorry for not specifying many interests butterfly kiss3z and I like a lot of the suggestions you made. Things that catch my interest are odd things like nutrition, pre-natal care, accupuncture, or just anything aren't what people automatically think of. I'm interested in a lot of different areas, but the ones that get me the most excited are the ones that don't seem to fit in with my three main concerns. Those are as follows: I don't want to work at a hospital(too many bad memories), I don't want to want a field that will have a ton of compition, and I want something that I can make a living doing while remaining within a reasonable distance of my family.
As for waiting so long to decide(which I understand I probably should have started that process sooner), I was trying to make a decision between 3 career paths. I was trying to decide between going into healthcare, marketing, or writing. I was most passionate about marketing, but during the summer I finally decided that it wasn't worth leaving my family. I also realized that I could still pursue writing in my free time while keeping a day job. Also another thing that kept me from rushing my decision is that I'm going to the community college in my hometown to get my basics before transfering elsewhere. Thanks for the help!
