Has the media made it worse??

In a few recent events (economy, swine flu) etc, I have noticed that the media have slightly over informed the public to the point where people begin to panic. My parents were considering buyin g loads of food and water to shunt in our garage in the event Swine flu became a huge killer. I remember a similar thing happening with SARS, it actually made me scared of asian people for a while lol ( I was young).

With the economy the media don’t help because they tell everyone how bad it is which just makes people tighten their belts even more so less money is circulated through the economy etc etc etc. Obviously it is MUCH more complicated than that but for conversations sake I’ll leave it there, if anyone else fancies going really in depth then feel free.

The media tends to make everything worse. They are just warning people though because in all actuallity they do not know what to expect from this. All they know is that it has the capacity to mutate. On the other hand though people do have the right to know so that they can be prepared. Really they should just put out warnings for people to wash their hands, cover their mouths, and quit with all the anti-bacterial EVERYTHING.., and they will have a much better chance at avoiding the issue.

yes when those things are on every channel and they over exagerate to keep us tuned in .. and scared .. cause I bet your parents went out and bought stuff right ? consume consume consume. thats really what its all about. getiing folks to the store. the media is owned by people who own other things and want us to buy their stuff. its a vicious cycle.
