hmmm I think something might be wrong because I’ve had 4 hamsters and none of them have ever bled unless I havnt noticed it. if others say it isnt normal then take your hamster straight to the vet! x

Here’s what I found:

A couple of times during the life of a female hamster, vaginal bleeding may occur. They do not have proper and regular menstrual cycles as human females do, but a small amount of discharge willl occur. It will only last for a day or two, and if it is not prolonged it will not be a serious problem as there are usually only a few spots here and there. It is normal for a female hamster to experience this, and is not associated or linked to any hamster disease or illness.

If your female hamster experiences longer periods of bleeding, it may be due to a uterine infection. At this point, your hamster should be taken to a veterinarian immediately before the infection has a chance to get worse.

are there any other things that could be causing it and are there home remedies. since it is the 4th of july our normal vet wont be in till saturday so if anything is truly the matter, it wont get fixed till then
