ok so someone recently told me that the length of your hair is based on genetics…is that true? because I have beeen growing my hair for a year and it hasnt..grown much I have curly hair and when I straighten it its LONG but obviously since itts curly it scrunches up. I reallly want it to grow long…

Answer #1

Everything is based on genetics, if not then you would not have it…

Just think about that for a second and feel it…almost there…nah just forget it then…

Answer #2

I wouldnt say hair length is based on genetics per se, how curly it is, how fast it grows, how thick it is, etc etc would be more genetic based…

Answer #3

START USING CURL&SHINE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER IT WILL BRING DOWN YOUR CURLS SO THEN IT WILL GROW ALSO WHEN YOU WANT TO GROW UT YOUR HAIR YOU HAVE TO EAT GOOD FOOD NOT SO UCH JUNK LIKE IF YOU HAVE WHITE LINES ON YOUR NAILS THAT MEANS YOU NEED MORE VITAMINS SO DRINK MILK AND EAT VEGG

Answer #4

Take prenatal vitamins to get it to grow.

Answer #5

Um…no they’re absolutely wrong hair length has nothing to do with genetics. you can grow it out till it’s dragging on the floor or you can cut it short you get to choose- YAY

Answer #6

well of course it is based on genetics. Okay your hair follicle has a certain ‘life’ , when you are African American the life of the hair follicle is short so therefore the strand of hair falls out when the follicle dies, when you are Caucasian the follicle’s life is longer therefore the hair can grow longer. This is why you see African Americans with short hair and Caucasian, Asian, Latinas etc. with longer hair. So it does not mean if you have curly hair you hair will not grow it depends on how much of one race you have in your blood.

Hope I helped! :)

Answer #7

sad princess that’s not true Most African Americans have short due to the weak state their hair in from being chemically and thermally over processed. This causes damage and the hair to break off causing short hair. Those who take care of their hair properly have long hair just like Hispanics and Caucasians. You also failed to address the fact that an African Americans hair is a lot harder to take care of then Caucasians, Hispanics, and Asians and so many cut their hair short for an easier hair style.
