I would say he is making the right choice for his family, he may be scared that if he hands out with you he may do somthing that would not be right. Though it may hurt not to have his close friendship anymore, you have to respect a man that is putting his family first.

He probably feels guilty so no doubt he has strong feelings for his wife as well. I would say that you two have a lot in common and there is no harm in at least being friends at work. Talk at lunch breaks stuff like that, may be hard for you both but try asking him to at least continue the friendship to avoid odd feelings of being distant. Just try not to let it go any further. Some things don’t work out. Granted it worked out bad for you but he as well has probably a very strong feelings of guilt. I think that you should try and do your best to forget the incident and re-establish a friendship because there is no sense in breaking off completly.
