Gta 4 will make people violent

I love videogames but I dont think we should underestimate the impact of the sort of violence on little ones. I bought gta4 the other day and I just went around stabbing people for money in the park and killing cops and hookers. And I think its funny that you loose more money just giving up to the cops that getting killed.

My point is how are we gonna fight against the banning of such games if this is what they are like. I can totally see little timmy acting out the game at school.

This isnt so much for advice but oppinion

I think the best way to solve the problem is to for some of these games only offer them to be purchased online.

WHY? They don’t have a problem selling condoms, alcohol, cigarettes, adult magazines, etc. in stores. The employees (and the parents) need to just PAY ATTENTION.

Answer #2

I agree with yaboy.

Some people turn out bad because of video games AND other aspects as well, it isn’t just to blame on one thing. I played really violent games when I was smaller and have never had the slightest inclination to do harm to anyone… I think parents are more to blame on how they raise their kids (also not in all circumstances).

I love videogames but I dont think we should underestimate the impact of the sort of violence on little ones.

My question would be WHY are the ‘little ones’ playing games that are CLEARLY marked for mature players ONLY?

Answer #4

I really wouldn’t put ALL the blame on video games, as there are other influences. Factors such as parental guide/love, if this isn’t there, then obviously kids are going to seek attention by other means, I.e. violence. People who put the blame all on one aspect are simply naive.

Answer #5

Capt. Assassin, I agree with you that parents and check out clerks need to pay attention but how can you do that? How do you get parents to give a damn about their kids? Look at the elections, how often did the politicians mention kids? Very rarely because they just dont care about anyone but themselves anymore.

Answer #6

Well said Yaboy, but the clearly we have a lot of parents who dont guide their kids. Personally I am not a fan of big government, these mature games often times wont get carded at the checkout center. I think the best way to solve the problem is to for some of these games only offer them to be purchased online. That way we can ensure that it is being sold to somone that is of age.

Answer #7

Yeah, you’re right. Let’s like, totally ignore the real factors in human nature and blame video games. It’s so much easier.
