Why is Google Chrome not suitable for homework assignments online?

Web site design is a complicated thing. Designing a web site so that it runs in every browser is difficult. I’m an old lady and I remember the times when large companies told you to use “microsoft internet explorer” whenever some things on their site did not work for you. Then Opera and firefox became more popular and web site designers has to do extra efforts to make their sites function - and look similar - in every browser.

You know theoretically all web browsers are supposed to interpret the same piece of html code in the same manner, but sometimes if you design a site (especially one with non-standard features, interactiveness and stuff) and you test with only one browser, then sometimes it just won’t work in another browser.

Now i assume the websites you used have been existing before google chrome was published. So obviously the designer could not test his site on google chrome. Thus, he added a note that says he can’t guarantee everything works on chrome and that he recommends firefox/IE. They might be working on making it suitable for chrome, next time the site is updated. But then maybe they think that chrome is so rare that they don’t need to, yet.
