Glasses and their degree of emptiness
The common question ‘Is the glass half-full or half-empty’ is all well and good, but what if it is a quarter-full or quarter-empty, as mine was the other evening? and what effect should this have on one’s outlook towards life and the universe?
Then you just take a great big swig and enjoy. As for the outlook on life…who cares about the class and HOW MUCH is in it. Worry about WHAT is in it. And enjoy every drop!
It seemed like a clear message from the cosmos that I have lived for nearly a quarter of a century. That life is but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale, full of sound and fury, told by an idiot, signifying nothing.
Life…is what you make it. No more, no less. You can take that hour and make it the best you possibly can. Or you can perform only to have the performance over.
It does not matter if you see your glass as a quarter full or a quarter empty…either way…you need a refill.
