giving plasma
has any ever given Plasma? like out of your blood? and does it hurt? I’m going to give it next week because where I live they pay you $260 a month to give it! but just wondering does it hurt?
To be honest yes it hurts quite a bit I have given it as much as I have been able to although not for the money ;-) They use a much large needle then normal it basicly siphons out your blood and extracts the plasma and re insurts the blood, the best advice I can give is just to relax and not worry about it to much. The only thing that really hurts is the needle and you can often feel very weak when they are done but keep in mind aside from the money you are saving someones life! I am in the military and last time I was deployed my friend got hit with an IED and because of someone who donated a rare blood type they were able to save his life while we were in the field! So I personally thank you for your donation :-)
Many of us used to give it for money (back then it was $8 a week!!)…I don’t remember it being particularily painful…just boring…It makes you cold tho, when they put your blood back.
