I know exactly how you feel honey, I suffer majorly with heavy periods, and they are not nice, I have to run to the toilets as soon as I wake up in the morning, because they are that heavy, and I leak aswell, they are taking over my life, and im just in the same position as you, and im also looking for a way to help my heavy periods, and I think I just might try those birth control pills as I’ve heard its helped many people. And it must be difficult aswell knowing your 13, I started when I was 16 im 17 now and they have been irregular, painful and heavy ever since =( I know its scary, annoying and makes you feel very groggy, but I think you should go see your doctor as they will give you the best advice and give you something suitable for you, but I think the pill sounds like a very good idea and it could work =) good luck and take care and hope you have lighter periods in no time =) X x X

im 13 . and im not freakin pregnant . im a VIRGIN ok ? sorry . but I started my period a year ago . almost two . . . so . my period was regular till I skipped the past two months . . . so . but three months ago , it was REALLY light . like a regular size tampon wasnt even half full after 12 hours .

Answer #3

hey cheer2012, how are you doing? You’re right, taking birth control will definitely regulate your period and you will get them every month and they will be lighter. I use Yasmin and it is really good. I have been using it for about 8 months without any problems. It helped my periods get lighter and my menstrual cramps are diminished a lot.

Answer #4

an extremely heavy period could be a sign of something wrong on the other hand if you just started having periods recently then it might be just that your irregular right now id say either wait and see if it changes with your next few periods or go see a doctor good luck!

Answer #5

I know . I talked to my gyno about it , and she said for me it doesnt matter because im so young . I was like that doesnt make sense ? but oh weelll shes a doctor .

Answer #6

did you try a tampon and a pad? also take midol, that stuff works like a charm. and if nothing works, call a doctor and just ask her if that’s normal or not. cause you might be losing too much blood.

Answer #7

oh, and by the way if you are allergic take your iron pills with any juice containing vitamin C ( I think cranberry juice, and welch’s has vitamin C). Vitamin C helps the iron be absorbed in your stomach.

Answer #8

me, id go to the doctors, but then again, I get a little freaked out when somethin that im not sure bout happens…you can try what they said with birth control or you could be on the safe side and see a doctor :)

Answer #9

my best advice is to see your doctor and consult to him/her about your problem, cause I’ve had that problem once, before, and my family doctor prescribed me these pills!! and within a day in a half my period got lighter!

Answer #10

im 13 . can I take birth control to help ?

oh and babylove138 im allergic to oranges . . .

Answer #11

some people just have heavy periods. birth control like depo-pervera CAN help. I have really heavy periods too and I know exactly when you mean. go to your gynecologist and ask what he/she thinks. good luck!

Answer #12

its normalto miss your period some girl miss theres for about 4 months yes its going to be heavy but it will be over soon

love nieya

Answer #13

that isnt normal, you could very quickly become anemic and have to be given blood (I’m not being dramatic here, same thing happened to me end of last year and my doctor wanted to check me into the hospital). It was messed up hormones. You need to see a doctor so they can put you on something to get it to stop bleeding now. I know it sucks, but until you go in, just change your pad every hour on the hour (yeah you wont get much sleep) and if you’re wearing a tampon, wear a pad too just incase it leaks. Drink plenty of fluids, and if you have iron pills at home, I’d get a head start on them.

Answer #14

Birth control should regulate your periods, and most pills make them lighter as well. When we ovulate, our ovaries take turns, right side one month, left side the next. The only thing I can think of is maybe both are producing an egg at the same time? It wouldn’t be a bad idea to make an appointment with a gyno. Had I known that $8/ month for the pill would make my life so much easier, I would have started taking it at age 12.

Answer #15

ummm is there any chance you could have been pregnant? You MIGHT be having a miscarriage especially if you can feel the blood pouring out of you! If there is a chance that you could of been pregnant. YOU NEED TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM ASAP. there is a chance you can bleed out.

if there is NOT a chance you can be pregnant then a heavy period after 2 months of not having one is normal!

You still should consult a doctor to make sure you are not losing to much blood because that won’t be good!

take care …

Answer #16

omg this happened to me a long time ago. Just let the period pass but seriously - just lie down and dont move unless you have to change your pad. From now on take 2 iron pills with orange juice a day (2 in the morning or night). If you start to feel a little dizzy call the ambulance immediately. Just be careful. Do not exercise at all it will make it worse. Just rest rest rest.

Answer #17

Wow. you’re not even suppose to wear a tampon for more than 12 hours…I hope you know that. You could get easily infected.

Answer #18

oh , and the worst thing is . when I lay or sit down . I can feel it pouring out of me .

Answer #19

that is completly normal because you skipped two months.

Answer #20

I would put two pads on and see what happens… that is just my opinoin
