I’ve installed it on several computers and have never observed any harm.
RaiShauna Martin and imlonely are absolutely wrong, and it is very likely they have no clue what you’re actually talking about. Gimp 2 (and any other release version) is just a powerful, very useful, free alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It is built by a group of professional developers and I use the latest release almost every day with my job, and at home. The only way it COULD be harmful is if you downloaded it from some third-party website that put adware on it, but that’s true for ALL software. Just make sure to download it from the creator’s site and you’re good to go. I’m a geek, you can trust me.
