Getting rid of the red!

My natural hair color is VERY dark brown but over all the years of coloring, highlighting, and lightening it has a red tint to it now that I can not get rid of. I’m trying to get back to my natural color and have tried dyeing it a dark ash brown but after it fades I’m back to the red. What should I do to get back to the dark brown without the red?

Answer #1

Go into a beauty suppy store (I like Sallys) and ask them about striping your hair. I know theres this red out product you add to bleach (I use Quick Blue bleach) I just cant remember what its called. But it takes the red tinge out of your hair as you strip it. Once that’s done then you can dye it whatever color you want.

Answer #2

strip your hair then dye it what ever…warning don’t do it your self get it done at the salon

Answer #3

Maybe you need to strip the color out and THEN re-color it.

You should seek the advice or a hair stylist. They could tell you the best way and quote you a price.
