Getting a wisdom tooth pulled

Ok…friday I have to get a wisdom tooth pulled and I am so scared has anyone had that done before and if so how long does it take to stop hurting???

Answer #1

I’ve had most of my teeth pulled and never needed a pain killer. . . Have them give you some Nitrous oxide. . you’ll be to happy to be scared. . . .

The scariest part for me was the Valium I’ve because I’m scared of needles. But the meds hit so fast that you go right under. So peaceful…

I had very little pain. I stayed doped up on Flexeril for a week. I understand nowadays that recovery is much shorter.

I wish you well and I encourage you to talk to your dentist/doctor before the procedure is done so they can help you cope.

Nitrous Oxide will help.

This isn’t exactly a good thing to say, but I love the stuff. It makes you so relaxed, you will be happy, some people refer to it as “laughing gas”, but don’t worry, it won’t make you do anything you’d be embarrassed about. When you use the gas, you may think about the needle, but you’ll be too relaxed and you won’t care. I promise!

When I had to get a cavity fixed, I was scared to death. I hate needles, but I freak out more than most people do. So my mom told them I’d be scared, so they made me use it. I remember seeing the needle and not even caring, and I almost fell asleep. It was weird. I wanted to use it as long as I could. :) lol

Sorry if I sound a little crazy about the stuff, but I’m just trying to make you feel better. You may feel pain afterwards, but all people will, it will hurt worse if you don’t use the gas, because you may fidget.

Good Luck! ♥Emily

(Ps- With the nitrous oxide the time will go faster because you’ll be sleepy, depending on how high the meter is)

Answer #5

I’ve had it done before, I had an amazing dentist, I was able to make it to class right after…

It wasnt bad at all, I just kept on the pain pills every 8 hours till they ran out, and it didnt really hurt… ( I think trick is to take the pills before the pain starts)
