Getting a regular period

My period is never regular. Is there anything that I could do to get it regular? It is usually atleast 2 weeks late every time.

Answer #1

I also was interested to know why that was (my girlfriend has irregular periods)

I have heard hormonal BC pills work in getting the cycle in order, but the sports was a new one

Answer #2

Hmm well if it is two weeks late every time maybe that is just your cycle? But like stephanie said, you would need hormonal birth control to get it regular (the pill, the mini pill, the depo shot, or the patch)

Birth Control pills helped me a lot. If you have sex with more than one partner, use a condom! They’re still smart even with one partner but it doesn’t always happen, I know. Get tested regularly. Be sure to take a multivitamin with 400mcg. of folic acid just in case (marchofdimes.com) you get pregnant.. I agree with Sika, I’ve had to use several over the years since I was 18.

mines always late. and “teresa is cool” SO YOU WILL GET IT LESS AND IF YOU STOP DOING THE SPORTS YOUR LIKELY TO GET IT HAVEY THIS IS WRONG!! when you play sports it becomes regular!! and you get it every month, when I stopped playing sports for a couple of months I didn’t get it for around one month and 3 weeks!! and the day I played tennis I got it!!! after that I started getting regular ones but as soon as I stop playing sports for a couple of “weeks” I wait for ages to get it again!!!

Answer #6

hormonal birth control will regulate your periods. (no it does not make it worse, if it does you need to try a different hormonal combination that works with YOUR body.) Remember though, it takes at least 3 months for your body to adjust to hormonal birth control.

A drastic change in exercise(more or less) can cause a change in your cycle. Diet and weight can also effect your cycle.

Lastly, age is probably the most common reason for a cycle changing. Our bodies constantly change - so while a birth control pill worked for you when you were 15, it might not work so well when you’re 25.
