I really need some help in geometry?

can you please help me I don’t remember this thanks a ton surface area of a regular pyramid height 13 base 7

Answer #1

The term “regular pyramid” is used to describe any pyramid in which the base is a regular polygon and all the lateral faces are congruent. Thus, your question is not “well-defined”, since the base could be an equilateral triangle, or square, or a regular pentagon, …… etc. (to infinity).

If the base is an equilateral triangle, the formula for the surface area (s) is given by: s = (0.25 √3) b ( √(12h² + b²) + b) where b is the side length of the equilateral base and h is the height from base to apex.

If the base is a square, the formula for the surface area (s) is: s = b ( √(4h² + b²) + b) where b is the side length of the square base and h is the height from base to apex.

(NB the image above shows these formulae in a more conventional algebraic form)

I guess you actually mean the regular pyramid with a SQUARE base - in which case you need to evaluate the second formula, using b=7 and h=13.

If you attempt to evaluate the surface area using the appropriate formula, and post your answer, I will tell you whether it is correct or incorrect.

If you get the wrong answer, or cannot even begin to evaluate the formula, I will post a “model answer” using different values for b and h, and you can then use my example as a guide to obtaining the answer you require - after which I will be happy to tell you whether or not your answer is correct.
