Gcse media.

For task 2 I have to do this .. ‘’lets have your ideas for a new interactive quiz show. Dont forget to bear in mind the show needs to be educational, appealing and fun. Give us your ideas for the following: a title, a presenter, the set design, the question format, the prizes and the scheduling’.

Is this ok so far? ..

My quiz show would be called the quiz master and it would be presented by anne robinson. I chose anne robinson to be my presenter because she’s funny, sarcastic and has a good sense of humour. She would make the contestants, studio audience and the audience at home laugh and a presenter with a good sense of humour makes a quiz show successful. My quiz show would start with 4 contestants and at the start of the show they would have to go through a round called ‘hands on your buzzer’. This is where all four contestants compete against each other; they will be asked questions by the presenter and if they think they know the answer to the question asked then they have press their buzzer. This round will go on for 4 minutes and at the end of the round the contestant who answered the most correct questions will go on to play ‘the quiz master’ along with anne robinson. in this part of the show the contestant will sit in the hot seat along with anne robinson. they will be asked questions based on general knowledge and on television. For the questions based on television the contestants will be shown a short clip of a television programme and they will then be asked a question about the clip they had just seen. for the general knowledge questions they contestants will be given multiple choice answers and they have to pick the right one. My quiz show will be broadcast in a prime time slot, 7pm to 8pm, this means that most people would have finished work and would have time to sit down and watch it. It will be shown on itv2 which is a digital channel and is available on freeview. My quiz show will be interactive which means that the audience at home can fully engage with it. throughout the show the audience at home will be able to press a button on their remote control whilst watching the show this will take them to a page where they are able to answer questions with a chance of winning money. At the end of the show the winner will be announced on live tv.

Hi there,

It’s a good start. Here are just a couple of things to consider:

  1. Are two categories “educational” enough (esp. if one is television?)
  2. What makes this different from any other quiz show with questions and buzzers? I think for the GCSE the more unique the better :)
