Is it a good idea to get the Gardasil shot even if I'm not sexually active?

I’ve heard it’s a thick needle and it hurts really bad, &that you have to like not eat or dirnk anything before you get it or something…

So it doesnt seem that any of the side effects differ form normal shots. I dont see why they would use a larger needle, but in any case if they may, it wouldnt be much more pain than normal.

I got gardasil and was not sexualy active, and for me, yes it hurts! and the side effect of mine were swelling, itching and redness at the injection site.

I’ve had the gardasil shot and it was quick, easy and basically painless. The needle was the same as any other needle. All you feel is a little prick and it’s over with. I didn’t have to stop eating or drinking or whatever you are worrying about. The worst shot I’ve ever gotten was a tetanus booster, and that one made my arm muscle sore for days. All three gardasil shots were NOTHING compared to that.

Also, I got mine and I’m not sexually active, but I will be someday, so why not get the protection early on?

i got my last one last week and i am now sexualy active but i wasn’t when i got my first two. i had no side effects and the shot itself didn’t hurt any more than a tetanus shot so i figure it’s no big deal and its just extra safety :)

Yes. I got it in school for free, my year and the year below me, the ages range from 12-15. You get three different shots and it is very worth it because it prevents cervical cancer for when you are sexually active. It doesn’t hurt at all, it’s just like a normal injection. We were very lucky to get it in school as it is very expensive to get it done elsewhere. Well where i live anyways!!

I got the shots and I’m not sexually active, so yeah I believe it’s a good idea.

Those tetanus shots are freaking crazy. I was laughing and slapping my arm against the walls XD

Did you have any side effects? I’ve heard the risks are worse than not getting the shot at all.

I had absolutely no side effects from gardasil. Now, that won’t be the case for everyone, but for me, the risk of a few side effects outweighed the risk of cervical cancer.

And yeah, I hated the tetanus shot so much haha. I’m not looking forward for my next one in a couple years.

Well, actually if you go on youtube and look up the side effects to gardasil, many doctors were saying DON’T get it because the risks are higher than not recieving it.

Yes it’s a good idea to get it. There’s three shots you need to get if you want full protection though. My opinion is not to get it. I’ve heard that some people who’ve gotten the shot have severe side effects, even death. Just know you don’t have to get it.

yes i did just in case, guys can get that shot too, even tho they cant get it, they can carry it
