How do Gamestop Trade-ins work?

I was thinking about trading in some of my old games at Gamestop for a while now, but what do you do? and how does it work?

Answer #1

Say you have 3 games. You’ll probably get about $3-$8 for all three. However, you do not get cash… you get store credit. So, in order to get enough store credit to get a new game from Gamestop, you would need to trade in about 10 or more games… just for one new one.

It’s not worth it in my opinion, which is why I just don’t deal with them. I prefer going to pawn shops and buying/selling my games.

no, gamestop is the biggest rip off ive ever seen in my life, i went there once and never went back.. i had an extra halo 3 like the week it came out, and went to get credit there for it, and they said id get 15$ credit,, and they were selling used copies for 55$ LOL wtf… USE EBAY

Answer #3

i traded in 3 or 4 games and only got 20 dollars…never went back all 4 games were about 30 to 50 dollars when i got them so it’s just messed up…i agree with john use ebay

Answer #4

Gamestop rips you off, you are better off selling them on eBay or to a pawn shop if they take them. But you spend over $100 bucks for three games and only get $15 in return the biggest waste ever. Save yourself and your money.

Answer #5

its a rip off my bf had bought black ops brand new it was like 60$ adn he asked how much the would give him for it and they said 8$(it had only been used once) and like 14$ store credit

Answer #6

i would only suggest doing it if their like really old

Answer #7

well i was just going there today real quick to get my siblings some games, i traded in old games i had for the ps2 (madden 08, final fantasy XII, some old Medal of Honor games) along with some old PSP games (little big planet, marvel ultimate alliance) in total i traded in about 10 games and saved around $32, was it what i was looking for? i was hoping for more, but honestly i wouldnt buy all those games for $32, also you cant expect them to buy the games even near the original price seeing how most of them were over 5 years old. Will i trade in with Gamestop more often? probably not, only when im trying to save a few bucks on a expensive game that just came out.
