Frizzy Hair

How do I tame curly frizzy hair so that it is smooth and sleek? Do I blowdry it or let it dry naturally? I don’t necessarily want it to be straight… just not frizzy.

Get what’s called a Marilyn brush. It’s a round brush with natural animal bristles and a wooden handle. The longer your hair, the bigger brush you can get. Section off hair and start with it approximately 50% damp. Pick up a small section of hair with the brush, wrap it around and blow dry it outward and downward with your hair dryer nozzle following closely behind the brush–about an inch or two away from your hair. Keep doing this from root to tips, with long, outward, downward motions. If you notice your wrists and arms hurting–loosen up. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy and light to do and doesn’t require a lot of tension from you. Let the brush do the work for you. Don’t worry about getting it perfect. Once you have completed drying all your hair this way, then run a large curling iron (get a good one that gets up to at least 430 degrees farenheit through the sections. Some people’s hair curls again very fast, some very little once you straighten it with a blow dryer. So just listen to what your hair tells you. You may only need to go through it to tame the frizzies. Also I like Proclaim’s (you can get it as Sally’s) glossing cream. Once you’re down blowdrying, use VERY LITTLE and evenly apply throughout hair to tame frizzies and add shine.

If you are totally lost, go to a stylist and ask her to teach you how to do it at home. Don’t expect to pick it up overnight. It may take you several or dozens of tries before you get your system down efficiently.

go to the drugstore and buy smooth&sleek shampoo, conditions, and hair cream. also get hair cream that protects hair from heat. after showering and appear all creams to hair, blowdry hair with a brush going through hair so that it is sleek. then use a straightener to straighten it… put it on a low number if you don’t want it really straight. good luck=)

Boy, have I got the BEST advice for you feline1. I have really curly hair, but I don’t like to straighten it, because #1 It takes to much time and #2 I dries your hair out. So to get nice, loose waves ( no frizz!) I wash it once a week and flat-iron it after ( only do this once a week). For the rest of the week, I put it in 2 braids ( but you can do more if you want) when I go to bed, than when I wake up, I take them out and I have soft, shiney waves. I do this every night until I wash my hair again. Another way to reduce frizz is using a SMALL amount of olive oil in your hair, but be careful not to use a lot, cause it’ll look greasy. But if you use only a little, it makes your hair look and feel super soft and shiney. Hope my advice helped!

They have many products in your local drug store that will help you keeping your curls defined without the frizz. One example is frizz ease that can be applied onto damp hair and let to dry naturally that will help lessen the frizz and keep your curls bouncy.

Blow drying your hair will ultimately get your hair frizzy if you try to comb it through. If you have a diffuser than combined with the right products your curls should be tighter and less frizzy.
