How long can a turkey stay frozen before cooking it?

A whole fresh turkey can be kept in the freezer for up to 12 months. Reduce that time by about 3 months if the turkey is in pieces.

Once it’s cooked, it can only stay in the freezer for 4 months.

As I said…9 months for pieces, but up to a year for a whole turkey…as a chef, I should know!
