Former police officer who arrested his sister

As a former police officer I have seen just about every thing there is and had to deal with a lot of people–But what would you do if those people are related to you and you respond to the call–my sister and her ex-husband were having a domestic problems and I had to arrest my sister for disorderly conduct – disturbing the pease–public intoxication–and assult and battery–she had no idea that I was the arresting officer untill her court date when I had to appear. now she will not ecknowlege that we are brother and sister how do I explain to her I was only doing my job and my captain was my partner that night–if I were on patrol alone it woul not ended the way it did so was I wrong by just doing my job ?

You were only doing what’s best for her. It wouldn’t have been such an easy arrest if another officer had done it. Let her know that and show her you love her.
