Why is my formatting on Word messed up?

I think I might have done something on Word with my research paper.

Usually, I’m a pro at Word, but did I do something wrong along the way?

It’s double spaced and has a first line indent of .5.

When I enter down to begin a new paragraph, it doesn’t just double space it, it’s like a big hunk of space in between paragraphs. Like quadruple or something…

How do I fix this? I tried just switching to single then back to double, backspacing and re-entering. I can’t figure out how to do it. My teacher told me to fix it but when I asked her how, she said she didn’t know.

Any suggestions/ advice?

Thanks!

Dear katiexdancer1228, I’m sure you will find the correct way to do this but I usually don’t have the patience when I work in word especially when there is a formating problem and little time. So Try copying it all to word pad correct your spacing and copy it back to word on a new page. Sue…good luck
