For people with tattoos

I have a tattoo that starts on my foot and wraps around my ankle. I have noticed that either very little or no hair at all grows where the tattoo is compared to my other foot/ankle. Is this typical?

Answer #1

Yes, for some people tattoos will cause less hair growth in the area that the ink is places, mainly because tatooing is pretty much scaring (most people when they have a scar, hair does not grow in that place). I have several tattoos that hair have stopped growing in that particular spot.

Answer #2

That’s not the case with mine that I’ve seen (I have one on the upper bicep of my right arm, which encircles it completely)…however, I don’t have a whole lot of hair there on either arm, so it could be if I was hairy there grin then perhaps I’d notice a difference.

It is a kind of scar, though, perhaps if you had one done over several sessions this would happen? Mine was done in one session, about three hours.
