Could flossing be hurting my gums?

I’ve been flossing every night and whenever I floss my gums hurt. I don’t floss my gums of course ;3 But whenever I do on purpose, by the slightest pulling of the floss through my teeth my gums are like a…well you know. Not sure what other reason there is for why it hurts, I’m not rough with my tooth brush, nor do I massage my gums that hard to irritate them.

Answer #1

It don’t really hurt my gum when I floss my teeth. But maybe yours are (little) different.

Answer #2

You should go to the dentist if your gums are feeling that sensitive, you could have a dental issue. The sooner you go the more likely they can fix it!

Answer #3

I just went last month and they didn’t spot any issues as of yet, nor any cavities, but I’ll make an appointment to be safe.

Answer #4

Yeah, that’d be the best choice.

Answer #5

Some people’s gums are just more sensitive than other’s. My sister can’t floss because it hurts her gums and they bleed a little, but everything checks out fine with the dentist :)

Answer #6

Try rinsing your mouth with warm salt water at least twice a day..It may be the type of floss you are using..But you are on right track to go check it out with dentist.I have very sensitive teeth and gums,so I use products for it..It’s usually just the way our bodies are:We are all different..That is what makes us unique in our own way..Hugs..
