what does..”catch you on the flipside” mean exactly..haha..all the guys say that to me! and I dont know what the heck they are talking about!!

It started vary early in broadcast radio. “Flip side” refers to the opposite or “b” side of a record. (That’s that big black disc with a grove in it for those too young to remember)Radio DJ’s would say “Flip side” to let the listeners know the song(s) were on the other side of the same record. It became a term among DJ’s within a radio station and would often be used when changing shifts, e.g., “Hey Joe, I’ll see you on the flip side.” meaning “Hey Joe, I’ll see you tomorrow at our shift change.” It later became a catch phrase for some DJ’s when closing a radio show, e.g., “That’s all for today, I’ll see you (or catch you) on the flip side.” No one knows who was the first to coin the phrase but it has come a long way and transformed into many variations. All of them pretty much mean the same thing… “I will see you later.” (This information is from my Senior Thasos for my masters in communication)

1 the opposite of something 2 when the circumstances have changed 3 tomorrow 4 sometimes spelled “phlippside”
