Is there a way to fix a flat iron that is dying?

One of the heat panel things doesnt really get hot anymore, but it looks like they come off with screws. Would there be something I could do to make it heat up again?

Answer #1

for me the best thing to do is buy a new one, trying to fix the old one can possibly damage your hair

Answer #7

Nope, sorry. All appliances have lifespans- How long yours will last depend on the quality of the irons and the brand etc. GHDs and Cloud Nines are the best irons in the world right now but are a little pricey. There is no way to fix a flat iron that is dying, I’d actually recommend not to use it as the heat distribution through the iron plates won’t be even and some parts of your hair could be burned too hot while other parts don’t get any heat.

I suggest you buy a new one. It doesn’t have to be expensive, maybe you could find one on an online trading/sell/buy website.

Answer #8

Good idea. I think I’m going to start answering all questions like this. If anyone asks how to fix something, buy a new one! Is your child misbehaving? Toss it and have another one! Problem solved.

Answer #9
