Why do fish smell?
Different fish have slightly different smells. But any fish, if its not fresh, will smell bad.
Always get the absolute freshest fish you can get. The best is to catch it yourself and cook it immediately on a fire or barbecue. If a fish smells like what people think fish smells like the fish is spoiled. if you remove the skin, you remove much of the smell.
