Fingering correctly

Im rather in experieced when it come to fingering and dont know if im doing it right…only done it twice. How do I know if im figering her correctly or if its actually in the hole… I found both situations to have been awkward if I would have gone down to look and see exactly what I was doing so each time I was pretty much in the dark when it came to knowoing what I was doing.
