Ferret+2 cough drops=(

Hey, my ferret just ate two cough drops, I made him drink a ton of water, anyone know if he’s good or if I should take him to the vet?

So, after the ferret incident I interrogated the vet, sweets are not good for ferrets. They do not have a cecum and they have very short intestines. There may be no immediate damage to giving a ferret sweets but every other day will certainly be harmful to their digestive system. Kidney failure is very common among ferrets and as little as four raisins can give their kidneys permanent damage. They are naturally carnivores and can’t process fruits, vegetables and sugars.

look my ferret she loves eating sweets I give here sweets every 2nd day and her fav sweet is mint and choclate she has had stomach pains but then bout 1 hour later shes hypo FACT: he will get a stomach ache for abit but he wil be fine the next day so theres nothing to worry bout… :P

Just regular cough drops that you get at the store? He’ll be fine, they are mostly sugar…and a little menthol…
