What are your feelings about the riot caused by Penn State students after their coach was fired for concealing s**ual abuse?

I guess I am feeling shocked that people would support someone who concealed sexual abuse. This country values athletics way too much if his coaching is supposed to overshadow his role in a sexual abuse scandal. Weren’t the victims children? How could football be more important than their safety?

This story is just appalling to read about, I am such a huge college football fan and I can’t think of something more horrific than what has been said. It’s difficult to see the students react like this because in my mind it’s as if there over the top behavior and support of Joe Paterno is a slap to the families collected faces that have to be in stunned pain of what has come out…as if child abuse is secondary to a coach’s and universities legacy. All those years went bye with this monster having unfettered access to the schools facilities without anyone saying word one even after allegations continued and other incidents occurred. In the end, no one called the authorities of what happened those times, and that is the one thing all those fired administrators will never be able to get around from or adequately explain to the public..
