Why do I feel like my ''biological clock'' is ticking?

I’m only 20 years old, for pete’s sake.. but everyone around me is having kids younger than me, and married by 19.. so I feel like I’m running out of time and I’m gonna dry up or something lol. How do I stop feeling like that? I also feel rushed to get a degree and a good career, and I feel like I’m already behind..

thats’s a common feeling at this age :D just do something enjoyable for you and it will pass away :-P

Depends on the individual and at what age their own body “tells them it’s time to maybe think about the idea of conceiving “… Some might have the urge to have a bun in the oven, whilst other might not be maternal and ignore the natural signs their body is telling them…..I have heard of working women who either do not have time to raise a family (due to work commitments) or have not been lucky to locate “Mr Right” and had to have their eggs frozen….This procedure is great because if your body stops producing eggs, due to one’s so called “biological clocking” running it’s course, they still have the eggs stored elsewhere until the woman is already.

This souns kinda weird… Why would woman wait until she is old and ugly so no one would want to have children with her? o_O

Answer #4

…”old and ugly”? You, sir, are ignorant. When your partner turns 40, are you going to leave her because she’s “old and ugly”? I hope - for her sake - you leave her soon….women deserve better than you.

LOL…there is no such thing as “old and ugly” women… You don’t really need a man to have a baby, of course you do need a sperm from a man….There are many, many and numerous career women who hold very high positions in organisation, have the lifestyle only you and I could dream off and never achieve…The women are picky and fussy who they select as partners but they want to become a mother.

I feel old and I’m only 24. It makes no sense, but there you have it. It happens when people around you are in different places in their lives. You keep that in perspective. Just because a 19 year old you know is having a baby does not mean you cant have one in a few years (most people dont have babies at 19). And most people do not have degrees or careers at 20. Most people start careers in their mid-twenties. They’re not extraordinarily successful for many years after that. You’ve got a decade before you have to start worrying… Just remember that you are part of the majority, unless you’ve got a perfectionistic personality, it’s not too bad to be part of a majority of those who get a degree (who are a minority within themselves).
