Hi awsome87, I’m going write this with with the best intentions and your feelings in mind, so if I happen to sound sarcastic or mean, I don’t mean it.

Alrighty, first things first, have you done anything to try to lose some of that weight? I’m not saying because you’re overweight that you can’t find a girl, but seeing as that’s the first thing you spoke of yourself, I know that it’s an issue for you and that could translate as a psychological barrier for you to be confident of yourself in front of girls. And yes, true confidence (not cockiness) is attractive.

I know, we all deserve someone who loves us for us, but, there’s no harm in improving ourselves. A man who knows how to take care of himself can be a good indicator that he will be able to take care of his woman and her needs.

Attraction is a psychological and biological thing. Given the chance, women will choose the alpha male that’s healthy, fit, strong, intelligent and good looking so that they know that will be taken care of and to ensure that his top notch genes will be passed on to their offspring. Realistically, most guys don’t have it all, so they go the psychological route, and be the suave and charming man every woman wants by tapping into her emotions. Wear nice clothes. Wear some cologne that suits you, but don’t overdo it. Play on your gifts (I.e. personality, intelligence, etc).

I’m pretty sure if you start working out, keeping a positive & friendly outlook, and improve on your social skills (practicing opening doors for ladies to go through first, etc, it helps), you will definitely find a girl. As a tip for your workout, ask the personal trainers at the gym for workout and nutritional advice - I’ve been there and done that - it really helps and the knowledge stays with you forever. They can assess it all according to your weight and goals. Usually it will be about equal amounts of weights and cardio.

Anyway, about your ‘nerdiness’, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, and some chicks really dig tech heads. My partner is a total geek who plays WoW and Xbox 360 games. However, when you do get a girl (or a girl’s attention), make sure you put her first in front of your games. Make sure you have a balanced life between your gaming and girlfriend-time. If not, hell hath no fury on a girlfriend pushed aside so you can play video games. :)
