What will I do if I failed a Math class in College?

Like Iffy says. Also, if you can figure out what is taking away your focus, AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, you will do much, much better. I am speaking as someone who was in the same predicament and did not regain focus. Freshman year can be tough because you no longer have someone telling you to get busy, and you have opportunities to do all sorts of social things that were kept under control before, and there are plenty of distractions. If there is just the one class (or even two) that has caused you to stumble, you should have no problem, if you apply yourself. Take care, and Good Luck!!

Retake the class next chance you get depending on your university’s policy. It might hold you back or slow you down in taking future courses but nothing can be done. Trust me. I’ve been there, multiple times.

Can you retake this course as a Summer class? If you are going back home for the Summer can you take it at a community college? If the math course isn’t offered in the Summer you ask your academic advisor if you can take it as a “Special Problems” course. When you take a Special Problems course you work on the material mostly independantly and occasionally meet with a professor who evaluates your work. Otherwise do they enforce prerequesites at your school? I know that for the most part they didn’t at my University so there was nothing stopping us for just signing up. Also, if they do enforce prerequisites than you can ask the department dean to waive the requirement for you if you think you will be able to do the work.

Yes I was deciding on the waiver for prerequisite and then retaking the failed Math class in summer. So how long does the summer term usually last? And do I need to write a letter or just fill up and submit a ready form for the waiver? Doesnt say anything in my handbook. Thanks :)
