where does eyeliner go?

where does eyeliner go? I know I sound stupid, I know it goes below your eyes, but whenever I put it on, it seems like its to far down and it sticks out and looks weird. so, where does it go?

Answer #1

what does white eye liner do?

Answer #2

Well, I purposley make my eyeliner do that, I like it, but it’s not for everyone.

If you put it on the inside line by your eye, it usually will blink away. I’d try putting it jsut on your lash line, very carefully, and witha sharp-ish pencil so it doesn’t get thicker. And try to avoid touching your eyes, it will smear.

As a makeup artist, I’ll advise you the following:

If you are using a iquid eyeliner put it carefully along your top lash line, along the roots of where your eyelashes grow. You can extend it a little past the outside corner of your eyes and make it come to a point, if you want a more dramatic look. It takes a bit of practise to use liquid eyeliner as you have to be slow and steady when applying it. Once it is dry, if you think it looks a bit too fake, you can take a dark (brown) eyeshadow and lightly dust it over where you have applied the liner. This softens it a little.

If you are using a pencil eyeliner, first of all dont make it really sharp as it can ‘drag’ on your skin which is bad for you eye area. Soften it a little by rubbing your hands together to make them warm and then roll the pencil tip in your hand for a moment. You can apply it the same as the liquid liner, only on your top eyelid close to the lashline. You may need to go over it a few times to get it right. The line can be thin or thicker. You can skip applying it to the top lid and instead apply it to your lower inner eye rim - the line that is right next to your eyeball, just be careful not to poke yourself in the eyes. You may need to pull the lid down slightly with your finger to get it away from the eye. Do not do this if you wear contacts, and apply it to the skin below in a thin line. You can make the line thicker at the corners of your eyes. When you are finished you can smudge the lines slightly with a cotton bud to get a smoky eye effect.

Just remember that applying eyeliner to both you top and bottom lids can make your eyes look smaller. Dark makeup that surrounds your entire eyes will make them look more closed in so if you want bigger eyes just use it on the top lid and use a white liner on the bottom.
