uhm in order to have an expander you have to have braces, thats what the expander connects to. its some form of cement on your teeth and a thin bar like thing connects from on side of the moth to the other. i just had one of them taken out and i had to have braces on in order to get it, it hurts a lot. As for the cost most braces cost thousands of dollars, plus more if you brake brackets and such, most insurances should cover all of the cost or at least some of it, mine does. Braces aren’t a fun thing to have, at all. hope this helped! :)
