Why do I now have excruciating period pains when I've never had them before?

For 4 years now i’ve been lucky and never suffered with bad period pains just a slight stomach ache but now i have excruciating pain i can’t even stand up straight without wanting to sit back down or lean over. I’ve took painkillers too and it hasn’t gotten better. any advice?

If they are really bad, it may be a good idea to see your doctor… as it may be more than just period cramps.

It could be something like ovarian cysts, you never know. Here is an article about ovarian cysts, it’s very interesting - http://funadvice.com/r/14v35tm712b

However, it may just be really bad period cramps and that’s it. In that case, your doctor may be able to give you some sort of medication to relieve the pain.

Have you tried taking a warm bath, or holding a hot water bottle on your tummy?
