Why does everyone think I'm skinny?

I’m thirteen years old and I feel fat-just like most teenage girls. I just recently lost 50 pounds and I am 5’11 and I weigh 140-143. The problem is, I think I’m fat, and everyone thinks I’m thin. But I don’t. My weight is all I think of, and it’s too obsessive, I can’t enjoy my life because I feel like I have to exercise 24/7. Am I fat? I really don’t know. I’m also big-boned with broad shoulders, everyone wants me to get into modeling. I wear a size 5 in jeans, maybe a 4. Dropping weight is basically a hobby of mine, when I know it shouldn’t be. I don’t want to talk to my doctor, because when they weighed me, they said it was abnormal to lose 50 pounds in two months so they wanted me to go to a counselor. What SHOULD I DO??

According to your bmi you’re a perfectly normal weight… Now I know this probably isn’t going to change the way you feel. Anyway check this website for more infomation on Bmi. http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

You are not fat, listen to the majority of people ‘everyone thinks im skinny! but I think I’m fat’. It may be that you have a distorted vision of yourself.

You shouldn’t think of dropping weight as a hobby, and I think you know that. If by ‘they’ you mean your friends and family then listen to what they say. If you see a counselor then they can help sort this out. They will be able to help you and stop it before it becomes more serious than it already is.

I hope this has helped. If you want to know more about eating disorders then take a look at these websites: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/anorexianervosa.htm http://www.b-eat.co.uk/Home

I do hope you get this problem sorted out. If you ever need any more help then just funmail me. I’m always here.

Good luck

Update: I weigh 137 pounds now. Not 140.

Thanks a lot stellaapplemoor, I’m a lot healthier I’d say, although people think I’m underweight/underweight looking, I am eating much better and don’t judge the caloric information for everything I put in my mouth now. ;) Thanks!

Well.. follow what I said.. Try and see a counselor.. if you can. And don’t listent to those jerks. People say horrible things without thinking of their consequences. I wish you the best of luck =]

Thank you! I hope I can too, but I don’t know. I never knew that I would ever have this problem, I hate kids. They are jerks. If it wasn’t for people calling me “fatty” or etc. I wouldn’t be like this!

Even if I eat 3 chocolate pretzels, or have Mcdonalds Pancakes occasionally, I think I’ll get fat.

you shouldn’t have lost more than 50 pounds without consluting a doctor because its considered a drastic weightloss. although your weight is fine and your perfectly helthy if you stop now or dont loose too much more. It would still be best to go to your doctor and check that your body isnt being affected by such a drastic short term weight loss you meant to lose around 2lbs a week on a diet so what youve done could be very damaging for your body. best to go to your doctor just to check as it cant do any harm and you know your body weight is still healthy.
