Episiotomy open and bleeding?

I think my stitches may have disolved too soon, and I think my episiotomy is open. I noticed it at about a week and a half after being home. But since this is my first born, I don’t know if it is just supposed to close without the stitches there. It’s been 5 weeks, and I still am bleeding from it. Spotting mostly. I’m just wondering if I’m going to have an extra hole forever? J/K. Seriously though, I’m wondering if at my appt I’m going to have to get it resewn…

It’s normal to bleed for a good six weeks after giving birth (it happened to me for my first, but less for my second). The episiotomy closes long before that and the stitches dissovle after it’s had a fair amount of time to heal.

I’m sure it’s all normal, but if you’re having concerns, ask the doctor to take a look at it.
