Emo girl needs help

My father isnt letting be die my hair black or bleech…or die it lke at all…grrr…My hair is lke a dark blond light brown…is that still in my genre???

Unfortuanlty majority of the people who talk about emo and majority of the kids who call themselves emo still have no idea what the word actually means and this obviously includes you because your hair colour does NOT make you emo Emo is nothing more than a style of dress and a genre of music it has NOTHING to do with cutting (self harm) depression (a mental disorder) suicide, eating disorders, ect because feelings and emotions play NO part in any label or stereotype which is what majority of the kids who talk about emo and majority of the kids who call themselves emo still don’t understand only be emo if you actually want to but remember, you can still take parts from different styles and incorporate them into your own style without slapping a label on yourself so really. Just be yourself, if it’s actually what emo really means, be that if its not, don’t pretend to be something your not

ok people I understand you all think im poser thank you for those who actualy awnserd my question…I know emo is A type of music…actualy it is emotive punk and emotive hardcore origanating from the 80’s I believe…I used to haveing my hair dyed so I asked…the color faded and I fliped out…sorry for being a waste of you time…and I know all the stuff your trying to telll …but stop preeching the chior …ok…I but a label on my self because honestly the question would have made no sense if I didnt…thank you

to make it darker just dont go out in the sun.. also I cut my hair short and all the layers off the top and it made my hair a lot darker. but yea

Here’s the thing - dying your hair DOESN’T make you “emo”. Hair color has nothing to do with ANY stereotype…be less of a poser.

I wouldn’t dye it, it kills your hair and it can be your genre, you just have to make it work for you
