Dear stephie_lynn92, If you can’t speak with your parents you are not ready to leave. There are going to be a lot tougher situations you will face while on your own. Perhaps you can’t tell them because you know you don’t have a good reason to leave? They supply the roof, food and support that you will not get out on your own without help from others. Others have their own lives and cannot be occupied with yours. You will soon find this out and may find yourself of the street. You are not ready, you are not independent enough yet. Take some time to figure out how you can make things better at home instead of running from your problems. All signs point that you are not ready to move out. Sue…good luck

I looked up how to get emancipated in my state. Here, it just says that you refuse to live with your parents. Which is why I want to get emancipated. But I’m not 16 nor do I have an alternative place to live.

Seriously, don’t lie to the court. Only use reasons you have. Don’t make anything up. It could all blow up in your face.

To become emancipated you probably have to have completed school and be able to demonstrate that you are employed and sufficiently financially able to support yourself.
