What do you think of elderly people?

I love talking to them. They have lived through so much history, wars, segregation, times before advanced technology. Theis stories are so fun to hear. Even the ones who have gone senile are atleast entertaining! lol

I like listening to their stories. Some of them I do find pretty dull, but I never found my grandparents dull, it’s not due to their age that I don’t like someone but rather what they have to say.

they are old and have tons of interesting stories, but the approaches they take to explain them are very boring.

I find my grandfather great. He has taught me a lot also I am going to go hunting with him even though I don’t really like killing animals but we don’t waste any part of the animal.

Some elderly people are in fact very wise and tell fantastic stories. But some folks have spend all their life being dumb. And they don’t get any better in old age.

They are cool. I have a neighbour, 79 years old, smokes weed (or Hasjis as we get in Norway) and drinks beer like like anyone else. He’s one of my very best friends, and I shovel snow for him and helps out with his housework and does his shopping.

Something that I fear about becoming elderly is the condescending tone many people get when talking to the elderly. Sometimes specially if you are in a waiting room in a medical facility and a nurse is listening to a complain from an elderly person, they will not be listened to with the same respect as other adults. Sometimes they are “talked to” like if they were children. They also get laugh or disrespected by the motoring public, specially by young people.

they have many things to teach us. there EXPERIENCE is the valuable thing for us.an older person knows the result of your every move. OLD IS GOLD!

I work at a active lifestlye center for seniors so I converse with them often and they’re really nice and just love life, they’re not trying to impress anyone, they’re just enjoying their life and I like that about them! Also they have a lot of incite that is useful to me :)

when i see old people, i always feel sorry for them in a way as they sometimes have trouble walking or find it difficult to carry shopping bags but i love talking to them. when i was younger i used always talk to my nan and she’d always talk about world war 2 or about black and white tv and i always thought it was so interested learning about the past and how my nan lived. in my opinion old people are just the same as any other person, they been through tough times and good times just like everyone else :)
