Ears pierced... Infected?

Well.. I have had my ears pierced for about 5.5 weeks, so I took out the starter studs, and put in some gold ones yesterday… Today they have been a little sore, but I think that it because I was tugging at them to get them out.

But, just to be sure, today I cleaned my ears, and my new earrings, and put them back in, now they feel fine, but while I was wiping my ear there was the tiniest spec of blood, they’re not infected are they?

They aren’t swollen, theres no puss or itchy… Just asking to be sure lol…

Oh, also, when I put my gold earrings in, it took me a while to get them through the hole, I kept stabbing the wrong part by accident… (I have pretty bad co-ordination :p) so, is that what could have made them a bit sore?

Thanks for the help people! =]

Jess, you are better off leaving your ear-rings in because 5.5 weeks is still too soon to be removing them..

Be mindful that the stud and ear-ring should be the same type, for example, gold ear-rings with gold studs or silver ear-rings with silver studs… … Mix and matching the silver and gold may cause your ears to get infected… I can’t explain why because I am pretty bad with science but I think it’s to do with two different ‘metals’ rubbing against each other??? (lol I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong)

Try sea salt mix some sea salt with hot water and make it into kind of a paste if not but neosporn on it and it will possibly heal :)

Is the part that goes through your ear made of nickel? Maybe you are allergic to nickel. I am and it bugs my ears and makes them sore when I wear studs made of nickel, so I have to make sure I buy nickel-free studs.
