Why are my ears getting extremely red and hot after taking my first dose of antibiotics?

It doesn’t hurt at all i’m just curious if this could be some kind of allergic reaction or not.

Answer #1

Are you allergic?

Answer #2

Maybe you’re allergic to some medicines.

Answer #3

I have no idea, i’m just wondering if this is an allergic reaction or not. I’ve never had my ears get extremely hot with any other medication. I take it you didn’t read the details of the question.

Answer #4

Answer #5

It sounds like it could be an allergic reaction to me. Maybe you should see your doctor that gave you the medicine and tell him what it does to you…He will probably give you something different.

Answer #6

It went away, so i’m not to worried. It’s one of the only antibiotics i hadn’t had problems with before. Had it lasted longer i’d have probably called into somewhere and asked if I should worry but now i’m fine :)

Answer #7

Im not sure if this is what would have happened, but I would guess it would be because your body increases in temperature when its fighting of an infection which antibiotics would assist, so in order to prevent your core temperature from rising to dangerous levels, you were losing heat through areas of your body such as your ears, which would make your peripheral temperature quite high. Again, no idea if that would be correct, just a guess
