why are most earrings called earrings when their not rings? lol
Some are rings….but we call them “loops”….we call the ones that aren’t rings, “studs” :)
The originals were probably rings?
but what about the ones that are like straight, droopy like or are like triangle? why do we still call them earrings? unguard! lol

The first so-called earrings which were worn long, long ago were shaped like a ring, and the name has simply carried over even though style has evolved tremendously.
